Earlier this year Hasbro held a vote for players to choose a handful of new tokens for an upcoming version of Monopoly. That vote concluded and it was revealed that the Thimble was the most disliked token of the classics. However, now it seems Hasbro are booting more tokens out.
The vote, which had the Internet choose from an array of different tokens from emoji to turtles and a collection of other random objects, took place earlier this year and saw more than 4.3 million votes. Now the results are in, and not one, but three tokens have been given the boot.
We already know that the Thimble is out, but now Hasbro has revealed that the Boot, and Wheelbarrow have also been given the chop. Replacing them will be a Tyrannosaurus rex, a penguin, and a rubber ducky.

Interestingly of the 56 token pieces and the eight originals, it seems a good selection of the originals were kept in tact, though that was likely supported by various companies who chimed into the campaign.
“Car sharing service, Zipcar campaigned to keep the Car Token in the game by tweeting playful and often hilarious memes to their fans asking them to #SaveTheCar,” Hasbro revealed in a press release.
So when the next generation Monopoly launches, we’ll see the following tokens being fought over: Scottie dog, top hat, car, battleship, cat, T-rex, rubber ducky, and penguin.
The new version is expected to go on sale this Autumn.
