It appears we may be getting a sequel to Tango Works’ excellent 2014 Horror Game The Evil Within.
The sequel has seemingly been leaked via a Japanese job listing asking for a QA position on “Psycho Break 2“. Psycho Break was the Japanese title for The Evil Within so it stands to reason the listing is talking about The Evil Within 2.
The listing was leaked via Dusk Golem on a NeoGAF forum and describes the duration of the job as April 10 – October 31, indicating a possible Fall 2017 release date. The targeted hardware for the sequel seems to be PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Last year, Vice President of Bethesda Softworks Pete Hines discussed the possibility of a sequel to The Evil Within as well as another Bethesda published game, Rage. In the interview with Finder.com.au, Hines indicated that the game’s performance warranted a sequel.
He stated “I do think both The Evil Within and Rage did well enough that we could make sequels”
If these listings are to be believed then it would be likely to expect an official announcement at this years E3.
