Best described as a film-noir tactics game, All Walls Must Fall is the latest effort from inbetweengames. Today, the game launched on Kickstarter and is asking for €15,000 over the next 28 days.
All Walls Must Fall imagines a future where the cold war never ended. Set in Berlin, 2089, the game starts with the battle between the East and West coming to a head in the form of a rogue nuclear strike. Both sides send agents back in time to get to the bottom of who carried out the attack, in the hopes that they can stop the whole thing happening in the first place.
Procedurally generated levels mean that no playthrough is the same. The game features time manipulation and elements of rhythm gameplay, all presented in mixed 2D/3D artstyle. All Walls Must Fall is a tactics game at heart which promotes the use of different play styles and experimentation.
The game promises to accurately depict the cultural, sexual and gender identities of Berlin and tell a tell which tackles the meaning of freedom.
All Walls Must Fall will enter a closed alpha in May 2017 and will release on PC, Mac and Linux. The developers urge people to stay tuned for news of future updates.
