In exactly a week the Tobacco Docks in London will be awash with nerds looking to get their hands on some of the best upcoming indie and PC games coming on the market in the next year or so. However all these games can often be quite overwhelming, where do you start? Well, we’ve got a few suggestions.

With over 140 games to play you’re spoilt for choice. Fortunately we’re on hand to give you a good starting point. Below you’ll find a selection of games you NEED to see first, especially before the queues build up, and because they look to be pretty fantastic.

So let’s jump right in.

Battalion 1944

Having recently been announced, Bulkhead Interactive’s throwback to World War 2 multiplayer shooters is a must see. This is the first time the public will get hands-on with the game, so not only will you be able to check out what could be the next big multiplayer shooter, you’ll also have bragging rights.

Snake Pass

While everyone is losing their shit over Yooka-Laylee, Sumo Digital have their own contender for the revival of the collectathon adventure game. Snake Pass is a game where players control Noodle the Snake and Doodle the Hummingbird in a journey to save the day, and collect everything. This game launches just a week after its time at Rezzed, so it’d be an opportunity to play the game in a pretty much complete state.

AereA

This title is the start of a new RPG franchise by SOEDESCO and will have players batting to return the nine nine primordial instruments which have mysteriously disappeared. With hand-drawn art and music composed by the composer of BroForce, it’s definitely one to watch.

Gang Beasts

It’s not a games convention without a booth for Gang Beasts, the play-doh beat’em up from Boneloaf. While the game has been available in Early Access for some time, there’s nothing quite like the atmosphere this game creates as players swarm around the booth to try their hand at the hilarious brawler.

SteamWorld Dig 2

Announced during the Nintendo “Nindies” Showcase, Image & Form are bringing their underground exploration game back, this time for the Nintendo Switch. This is a chance for you to not only check out the sequel to a truly fantastic game, but you’ll also get hands-on with the Switch, if you haven’t already.

Serial Cleaner

What could be better than a stealth game where you’re tasked with cleaning up a crime before the cops manage to take any evidence? Nothing, that’s what. Serial Cleaner is a 70s-themed top-ish-down stealth came where players must sleuth their way around crime scenes to dispose of the evidence right under the cops noses.

Little Nightmares

I’m absolutely obsessed with this game, I’ve played through the event demo around four times now because it’s just THAT good. If you’re yet to check out Bandai Namco’s upcoming thriller adventure game then I’d wholeheartedly recommend doing so. Though, if you don’t get a chance, it’s launching next month, so you won’t have too long to wait.

So there you have it, just a few places to start when you head to Rezzed next weekend, there are still plenty of games worth mentioning too, so be sure to look around for a hidden gem, you never know, you might fall in love!
