EA have announced what we can all expect to see at this years E3 EA Play event in LA. The list includes a notable return to current franchises and EA are promising a bunch of new IP’s “to be confirmed”.
Starting with the sports titles that so regularly favour Electronic Arts like clockwork, NBA Live 18 makes a return along with FIFA 18 and Maden NFL 18.
However, the big news out of the EA website news isn’t the funny faces everyone has been talking about in the new Mass Effect game, it’s the Star Wars Battlefront sequel and the new Need For Speed game that will both be playable for the E3 crowd. EA has recently said that the new Battlefield game will be an improved and far cry from the last venture, with a lot more content and a lengthy single player mode in the works.
It has also been noted that BioWare are currently working on a fresh IP for EA, with a release date jotted down for 2018. On the BioWare official blog, Aaryn Flynn went on record to say:
“There’s much more to say in the coming months, but for now, I wanted to offer this additional background.
“In 2012, we began crafting a new universe full of new characters, stories, and gameplay. Our ambition is simple: Draw upon 20-plus years of development knowledge and lessons to create something fun and new for you to enjoy with your friends. There’s nothing quite as exciting as building a new IP from scratch, and it will be even more thrilling for us to share more with you in the future.”
It’s not yet clear what BioWare are intending to leash upon the gaming universe, but it’s been awhile in the making it seems.
With all this going on and the controversy surrounding Mass Effect: Andromeda, EA are looking to be very, very busy in the coming months.
