Sony has revealed some interesting information about their upcoming Jumanji reboot, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which might explain Karen Gillan’s skimpy outfit.
During Sony’s CinemaCon panel last night, the company confirmed that the upcoming movie won’t be based on a board game, like the original, instead it’ll be based around a video game, because who even plays board games nowadays?
The plot will apparently focus on four high school students who have stumbled upon an old video game console and upon switching it on, whoosh, they’re transported into the world of the game assuming the roles of Kevin Hart, The Rock, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan.
Due to the game’s “ancient” nature, it only seems fitting that the team are dressed in what an eighties video-game designer would dress them in, skimpy clothes ‘n’ all. Probably. I don’t know.
Controversial outfits aside, I’m actually really pumped for the new Jumanji movie, and the fact that they’re changing the formula slightly rather than making an exact copy, can only be a good thing.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will be released on December 22.
