Disney has revealed the full name of the upcoming Wreck it Ralph sequel and it’s as dumb as you’d expect.
Because Ralph is no longer confined to his arcade video game world, this time around Ralph will be sucked into the World Wide Web, and as you’d expect he’s “gonna wreck it!” and that’s why the new movie is called Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2.
Unfortunately we’re still yet to learn about the plot and how Ralph finds his way from an old-school arcade to the modern world that is the Internet, but the new logo might be telling:
Yeah, the logo itself is a parody of an app icon, notification ‘n’ all. So there’s every possibility that the movie will have Ralph being remade into a mobile app, which wouldn’t be the worst.
“To take these characters we love and have them enter the enormous world of the internet has given us so much to explore,” said co-director Rich Moore in a press release. “Our production team has been hard at work designing a world that takes something we all think we know – the internet – but shows it in a whole new, imaginative way.”
Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck it Ralph 2 is set to land in theatres on March 9, 2018, and will see the return of Fix-It Felix (Jack McBrayer) and Sergeant Calhoun (Jane Lynch).
