With the launch of Unicode 10 planned later this year, we might be seeing many more diverse Emoji’s landing on our phones. But what are they?
According to Emojipedia, who is planning to release Emoji 5.0 later this year, Emojis such as dinosaurs, vomit faces, and much more could arrive on our smartphones. To show just exactly what’s on the table, they’ve mocked up 51 of these Emojis for us to take a look at.
The new Emoji seem to be a lot more inclusive with options such as “girl in a headscarf”, “breastfeeding mother”, and many gender-less faces being available. Other Emoji include pies, pretzels, sandwiches, UFOs, broccoli, coconut, giraffe, and more.
Unfortunately, there’s every possibility that these could change, and there’s also no guarantee that they’ll arrive on our smartphones this year as despite the launch of Unicode 10 planned for this Summer, it could take a couple of months for Apple and Google to develop and release these Emoji.
The latest Emoji addition arrived on iOS in November 2016, four months after their official roll-out in Unicode 9, so there’s a good chance we won’t see these new Emoji until the very end of 2017.
