Paramount has today released the final trailer for their upcoming live-action Ghost in the Shell movie ahead of its March 30 release.
While the movie hasn’t come without its controversies, it’s almost time for us to see whether the live-action remake of the cult anime hit warrants all the complaining it’s received since its announcement.
Starring Scarlett Johansson as Major, Ghost in the Shell is set to introduce a new generation of movie-goers into the anime series’ universe. While some will always hate on it, I’m actually quite excited for this one.
Here’s the official Synopsis:
In the near future, Major (Scarlett Johansson) is the first of her kind: A human saved from a terrible crash, who is cyber-enhanced to be a perfect soldier devoted to stopping the world’s most dangerous criminals. When terrorism reaches a new level that includes the ability to hack into people’s minds and control them, Major is uniquely qualified to stop it. As she prepares to face a new enemy, Major discovers that she has been lied to: her life was not saved, it was stolen. She will stop at nothing to recover her past, find out who did this to her and stop them before they do it to others. Based on the internationally acclaimed Japanese Manga, “The Ghost in the Shell.”
This final trailer is an amalgamation of several of the trailers released for the movie over the course of the past year and gives us one last glimpse of what to expect.
Ghost in the Shell hits theatres on March 30.
