Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) was a star-studded box office hit so it was no surprise when a sequel was announced. Nor was it surprising when an equally star-studded cast was revealed, visible in the newly released movie poster.
The spy-comdey sequel will follow the Kingsman as they pair up with their American counterparts, the Statesman, after the destruction of Kingsman HQ.
Here’s the official blurb:
“When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…”
The new poster confirms just who’s signed on to star, including the return of Colin Firth, a topic of much debate among fans. Just how his character will feature in the new movie remains speculation, rumours suggest he will be a ghost or involved in a series of flashbacks. Not to mention the mysterious Statesman and just how they will shape up next to our immaculately well dressed super spys.
What we DO know for sure is that the all star cast is sure to perform just as spectacularly, with many of the original cast reprising their roles and Matthew Vaughn returning to direct. The movie release date remains a mystery but it will be sometime in September.
