Initially slated to launch in 2016, after making sure the game would “scare the crap out of us,” developer Red Barrels announced a release date today. Get ready to be terrified all over again when Outlast 2 launches this April.
Coming a little later than anticipated, Outlast 2 will release on April 25 in North America and April 28 in the UK for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The digital title will run $30 which is sure to deliver plenty of frights along the way. But that’s not all, joining Outlast 2 on April 25 is Outlast Trinity, a physical bundle including the Original Outlast, the Outlast: Whistleblower DLC, and Outlast 2. For the added experience or if you missed out on Outlast previously, this bundle will cost you $40 to provide a horrifying experience in your own home.
“We’ve been lucky to have such an amazing fan base, and none of this would have been possible without their support,” said Co-Founder Philippe Morin, Red Barrels. “Ever since we released Outlast in 2013, a physical version has been one of the top requests, so we’re obviously thrilled to finally give people the entire series in one bundle of terror.”
Outlast 2 follows the story of Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with his wife Lynn, who take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else would ever touch. The investigative journalists are looking into the “impossible murder” of a pregnant woman, Jane Doe. Their investigating leads them miles into the Arizona desert to horrific findings and a “corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do.”
