After an incredibly successful launch on PC, Trion Worlds has today announced that Trove has officially exited beta on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and officially launches today.
Trove is a free to play voxel-based RPG that has players raiding dungeons and completing quests, as well as building home bases and arenas for other players to fight in. The game features an already expansive world of quest-based content, but players can also build their own worlds complete with dungeons, castles, and much more.
Think of it as if Minecraft and World of Warcraft had a love child.
Trove has been in Open Beta on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and has already seen nearly five million players jumping into the game over the past few weeks and Trion sees this as only the beginning.
“We’re sincerely humbled by the outpouring of excitement and enthusiasm from the Trove community during its Open Beta on PlayStation and Xbox One,” said Scott Hartsman, CEO of Trion Worlds. “Thanks to those millions of supporters, Trove on console is off to an incredible start, with thousands of unique worlds being built by players and tens of millions of hours logged in the game before it’s even officially launched.”
Although the game doesn’t support cross-platform play, players will always find exactly the same content available regardless of what platform they play. Including all 14 unique classes, which can be swapped on the fly, as well as approved player created arenas.
