Welcome to the n3rdabl3 forecast, a round up of the next few week’s biggest releases in the world of video games, movies and comic books. 

I’m sure most of you like knowing what is coming out and when so you can keep your wallets ready and full. Well look no further, your answer is here. For everything video game, movie, and comic related releasing in the next couple weeks, just keep reading.

Video Games

Persona 5 (PS4 and PS3)

Release Date: April 4

This JRPG has already racked up some rave reviews. The game puts you in control of a silent protagonist after their transfer to Shujin Academy following their probation for assaulting a stalker. Throughout the school year, you and other students awaken your Persona powers, become masked vigilantes known as the “Phantom Thieves of Hearts”, and explore the supernatural Palace realm to steal the ill intent that dwells in the hearts of adults. As with previous titles in the series, the party battles supernatural enemies using manifestations of their psyche called Personas. The game incorporates role-playing elements and dungeon exploration alongside social simulations.

Ira (PC and Mac)

Release Date: April 5

Mankind has expanded their reach beyond our planet and has mined and controlled Mars and the Moon, and dream of expanding their domain even further. But not all are so privileged, most are left behind and lead bleak lives with little hope of success or change. Enter Ira, a boy who has always dreamed of space travel. A new solar system is discovered and a mission is set up to travel to this new far off Galaxy. Fast forward 15 years and Ira’s dreams become reality when news of a successful trip finally reach back to Earth. Ira joins up with the second team to travel to their new world, placed in stasis. When he wakes up, however, something is horribly wrong. Ira is alone and his only aid is that of an AI. Follow him on his journey as he unravels the mystery around the second crew and what un-earthly calling brought him to this new world.

Bullet Storm: Full Clip Edition (PS4, Xbox One, and PC)

Release Date: April 7

This remake features improved poly counts and textures, smoother frame-rates, and can run up to 4K resolution on PC and the PlayStation 4 Pro. It comes with all of the DLC released for the original game, as well as new content. Those that pre-order the game will be able to play as Duke Nukem through the campaign, replacing Grayson Hunt with a new script. Other additions include Overkill Mode and six new maps for Echo Mode. The game distinguishes itself with its sense of style and crass humor, rewarding players for performing increasingly ridiculous and creative kills.

Yooka-Laylee (PS4, XboxOne, and PC)

Release Date: April 11

Yooka and Laylee venture out from their home in Shipwreck Creek to explore the work halls of a baneful business known as the Hivory Towers. They are on a mission to find the “Pagies” needed to explore the mysterious Grand Tomes as the buddy-duo fight to stop Dr. Quack and Capital B from absorbing all the world’s literature and converting it into pure profit. Based off the similar gameplay of Banjo-Kazooie, this game is sure to scratch that nostalgia itch.

The Sexy Brutale (PS4, XboxOne, and PC)

Release Date: April 11

A murder mystery about second chances, and third, and fourth… honestly, it could go on endlessly, depending on how good of a detective you are. It includes a twist of the Groundhog Day variety; the player is stuck in the same repeating day as an elderly priest named Lafcadio Boone. As Lafcadio you must save the guests that are attending a masked ball. Save them all you win, let one die and the day starts over, good luck!

Stardew Valley:Collector’s Edition (PS4, Xbox One)

Release Date: April 11

You’ve inherited your grandfather’s old farm in Stardew Valley. Armed with second hand tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? Its not going to be easy. Since the appearance of the Joja Corporation, the old ways have all but disappeared. The town’s most vibrant center of activity, the community center, now lies in ruin. But the valley is full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness! The collector’s edition will include the full game, a Pelican Town Map, a mini-guidebook, and a code to download the game’s soundtrack.

Calm Waters (PC and Mac)

Release Date: April 13

Trying to move on with life after the death of his wife, Peter Taylor decides to travel abroad. He arrives at a small, quiet coastal town where tourists are scarce and everybody seems knows each other. When he notices people are going missing and all signs point to a mysterious island out at sea he decides to team up with local journalist Michelle and terrified, yet adventurous, waiter Glenn to go and investigate. What secrets will the island hold? What are the locals hiding? And what’s causing those blood-curdling screams that seem to be coming from that mysterious island when the sun goes down?

Its another Smurfs movie, not much needs to be said.

Going In Style

A reboot of the 1979 movie, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Alan Arkin portray three seniors, who are living social security check to check and decide they have had enough. So, they plan to rob a bank… problem is, they don’t even know how to use a gun! A social commentary on growing old in America and what we are sometimes driven to, under certain circumstances. Besides, who doesn’t love Morgan Freeman??

Releasing April 14:

The Fate of the Furious

The 8th and hopefully final, installment in the Fast and Furious franchise. The team has finally found a semblance of a normal life. But, a mysterious woman seduces Dom into the world of crime and convinces him to betray those closest to him. The team will face trials that will test them like never before. From the shores of Cuba to the streets of New York City, even the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, the elite crew will travel around the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage… and to bring home the man who made them a family.

Batman #20

Batman Superman Vol. 6: Universes Finest

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Road to Annihilation
