Available on IndieGoGo, the SwitchCharge hopes to fix two big problems with the Nintendo Switch, the terrible battery life, and the flimsy kickstand.
The SwitchCharge will feature a sturdier stand and a built-in battery pack that will increase battery life by 12 hours. The kit will let you to store two extra game cartridges and will allow you to quickly lock and unlock the console.
The Switch has been generally well reviewed across the industry and its main launch title, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, is one of the best reviewed games of all time (full marks from us!). It’s fair to say though, that one of the biggest gripes consumers have had with it is the battery life when taking it away from the docking station.
SwitchCharge Founder Charlie Baron said:
“We think [the Nintendo Switch is] an impressive console, but we wanted to make it even better. By addressing its weak battery life and flimsy kickstand, we’re proud to have created a device that we really think helps the Switch reach its full potential.”
InDemand Design added that if they can raise $80,000 quickly then they will aim to deliver the accessory in August 2017. A limited number of early bird pledge levels are now available starting at $75.
