Tamagotchis are Back to Remind 90s Kids How Neglectful We Were

Bandai has announced that it has relaunched the original Tamagotchi, with original pets, in Japan.

Remember back in the 90s when all any kid ever talked about was their Tamagotchi and how it either pooped, or died while they were at school? Well it looks like the 90s are making another comeback as Bandai has announced that it has relaunched the original Tamagotchi over in Japan.

Though they’re being touted as the original, they’re not quite how we remember. First, they’re about half the size have a square LCD display, and they’ve removed the icons on the top and bottom of the screen.

Price-wise however, Bandai aren’t cashing in on nostaliga here as they’re priced at 1,920 yen, which is around the same price they were back in the 90s.

Now we can once again enjoy watching our virtual pets poop, and accidentally forget to feed them, except this time we’ll be in our twenties and thirties. OH JOY.
