Microsoft are currently testing a new refund procedure for Xbox One and Windows 10 according to this Reddit user. It seems to still in a very early stage, and to be honest it may never see the light of day to the public but it’s definitely a positive sign for those of us who love to buy digitally.
Steam have been offering refunds for a little while now, and like the Steam process Microsoft explain that to be eligible for refund that game must have been purchased within the last 2 weeks, with less than 2 hours playtime clocked. It all appears to be self service, with no need to contact customer service or give a lengthy explanation to why you don’t want the purchase.
Seems fair to me, here’s hoping that it gets though the alpha stage it’s currently at and rolled out soon.
