Nintendo has finally revealed numbers for the Nintendo Switch – the fastest selling console in Nintendo history.
It’s looking live everyone is pretty much in love with the Nintendo Switch, and while numbers have been creeping out to suggest that the new console is a winner for Nintendo, the company has yet to actually unveil numbers, that is until today (kind of).
According to the NPD Group, Nintendo has revealed that the Nintendo Switch sold more than 900,000 units in North America. This makes the Nintendo Switch the company’s fastest-selling video game system of all time. That’s right, within a month of being on sale, the Nintendo Switch sold nearly 1 million units in the United States alone.
As for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, there are some pretty interesting numbers. According to the NPD Group, Breath of the Wild sold over 925,000 units for the Nintendo Switch – that’s more copies of the game sold than consoles owned, which is a bit bizarre. The game also saw over 460,000 sales on the Wii U.
This news however puts The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at the top spot as both the fastest-selling Nintendo launch title of all time as well as the fastest selling Zelda game of all time.
Nintendo adds that “full accounting of worldwide Nintendo Switch sales” will be made available on April 27 when it issues its full fiscal-year earnings.
