At the annual Star Wars celebration, EA officially revealed Star Wars Battlefront 2 alongside a brand new trailer. The game will release November 11 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
This full trailer follows the version which leaked a couple of days ago and gives some details of what we can expect from the single player campaign. The campaign will follow imperial commander Iden Versio after the destruction of the Death Star. Iden is on a mission to avenge the Emperor and seeks revenge against the Rebellion. The game will feature the ability to fight across multiple eras of the Star Wars Universe using a wide variety of characters including Yoda, Darth Maul and Kylo Ren.
While battles will be era specific, for example you can’t face-off against battle droids as a member of the Resistance, the game’s hero characters can span multiple different eras. One thing sorely missing from the first game was space battles. This seems to have been rectified in the sequel with DICE enlisting developers Criterion to handle the vehicular combat. Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will also feature splitscreen co-op.
We’ll no doubt see more at this year’s E3 but until then you can watch the trailer below:
