Kickstarter funded project Friday The 13th: The Game finally has a release date after previously being delayed to 2017. The game will release on May 26 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Initially the game will only contain multiplayer with plans to patch in a single-player mode later this year. In Friday The 13th: The Game one player will control iconic serial teen-slayer Jason Voorhees while 7 others will control camp counsellors. The Counsellors must try to escape the semi open-world campground before they are tracked down and brutally murdered by Jason. The game’s main draw is the ability to play as Jason Voorhees. Jason can murder his victims in a variety of brutal and sometimes hilarious ways.
Due to the asymmetric nature of the game, players must work together to lay traps, fortify and loot buildings and repair vehicles all the while keeping Jason at bay long enough to escape.
