Microsoft and Xbox have announced this week that the [email protected] program has seen 500 games released.
Following the release of Voodoo Vince: Remastered, Thimbleweed Park, Cities: Skylines – Xbox One Edition, and more, Microsoft and Xbox have announced that they’ve released 500 games through the [email protected] program.
The company also revealed that in 2016 alone, tens of millions of players played [email protected] games on either Windows 10 and Xbox One with over a billion hours played. The program has been a platform for many games coming to Xbox from Inside to Firewatch, Pit People, and Ark: Survival Evolved.
To round off the news, Microsoft also teased what’s in store for the future:
“We’ve got an incredible slate of hotly anticipated [email protected] games on the horizon including the hotly-anticipated Xbox One exclusive Cuphead from StudioMDHR, and console launch exclusives like Capybara’s Below, AURORA44’s Ashen, and Fullbright’s Tacoma.”
[email protected] has been largely praised by the developer community, however there was a brief stint of controversy around the platform due to the “parity clause” as it was called. This clause meant that games had to either launch simultaneously on all platforms, or be on Xbox first.
