Today, Capcom revealed that Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite will release September 19 this year. The news comes alongside a brand new trailer (watch below) which shows a glimpse of the game’s Story Mode. This will be the first time the series has included a Story Mode and will see heroes from both worlds facing off against a brand new enemy, Ultron Sigma. This sinister new foe is a combination of Sigma from the Capcom Universe and Ultron from Marvel.
Speaking in a press release, Capcom outlined this new threat, “this psychotic villain is obsessed with infecting all organic life with a cybernetic virus. History’s greatest gathering of warriors must now unite to fight back against Ultron Sigma and save their newly formed world.”
The game will feature the 2 v 2 team battles fans know and love along with a whole host of characters from both universes. Eight new characters were also revealed today including Ultron, Chris Redfield, Strider Hiryu, Rocket Racoon, Chun-Li, Hawkeye, Thor and Hulk.
Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite is available for preorder now and will release September 19 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
