D.Va is Heading to Heroes of the Storm

Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that Heroes of the Storm is set to get another Overwatch-themed event with the Nexus Challenge 2.0.

Blizzard officially unveiled Heroes of the Storm 2.0 this week which includes a new event, Nexus Challenge 2.0. This challenge will give players the chance to unlock a new skin called Officer D.Va in Overwatch if they manage to play enough of the game. As you can probably tell by the name, this skin reimagines D.Va as a Korean police officer.

To add to that, her mech is also equipped with a new skin to make it look more like a police cruiser, which is pretty neat. Players will also be able to earn some new icons and sprays based on Officer D.Va if they play enough of Heroes of the Storm.

That’s not all on offer for Overwatch fans however, as Nexus Challenge 2.0 also offers another chance for players to grab the Oni Genji skin which was available in November during the first Nexus Challenge.

As for D.Va making an appearance in Heroes of the Storm, right now Blizzard are keeping things under wraps just adding that she’ll be in the game “soon”. To further tease her inclusion, a brand new trailer has been released which you can see below:

Nexus Challenge 2.0 will run for a total of four weeks. In order to grab the skins players will need to play at least five games per week, with a friend, in Quick Match, Ranked, or Unranked modes. The full list of what’s happening each week can be found on Blizzard’s website.

Finally, it’s been revealed that Overwatch players who cannot or do not want to play Heroes of the Storm may have a chance to secure the Heroes of the Storm skins in Overwatch Loot Boxes, however Jeff Kaplan didn’t reveal when.

“We completely understand that there are some players who do not own or have access to a PC to play Heroes of the Storm,” Kaplan said. “Because of this, we plan to add both the Oni Genji skin and the Officer D.Va skin to the normal, base Overwatch loot box at some point in the future.

“With that said, I still encourage anyone with access to a PC to play the Nexus Challenge. Heroes of the Storm is an amazing game and you’ll unlock those skins for free and before anyone else.”
