For those of you that haven’t played it yet, Payday 2 is a first person shooter in which you and a team of criminals are tasked with carrying out heists in Washington D.C. Players receive cash from completing the heists which can be spent on upgrading characters and weapons to customise the gameplay experience.
The game originally launched on the Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows but an updated version, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition, was released for the Xbox One and PS4.
The Switch version, announced at the latest Nintendo Direct, will contain multiplayer for those that want to play along with friends.
Over the course of the game’s life it has received many updates and additional downloadable content but it’s unclear at the moment how much of this will be available in the Switch edition. Nintendo did say that a “huge amount of Payday 2 content will be coming to the Switch later this year”. This could indicate that the DLC will be available, even if not packaged in with the game itself.
