If you’ve been looking forward to hopping, skipping and jumping all over the colourful world of Playtonic Games’ long-awaited Yooka-Laylee, you may very well have looked up some of the game’s music, which echoes the likes of Banjo-Kazooie and countless other Rareware classics.
If you fancy getting that soundtrack – composed by Rare legends Grant Kirkhope, David Wise and Steve Burke – in a very pretty package, look no further than Laced Records’ Yooka-Laylee Soundtrack Collection on double LP, CD and digital download (which is included as standard with the LP and CD versions), which comes to us courtesy of a partnership with Team17 and Playtonic.
Each version contains all 28 tracks from the Yooka-Laylee soundtrack, with the CD and digital download versions also containing 10 additional “world variant” tracks by Grant Kirkhope himself.
Gavin Price, Managing Director of Playtonic, had the following to say on the soundtrack’s release:
“It’s great to be celebrating the release of the game with a separate soundtrack release. We’ve had the pleasure of humming these tunes all day throughout development and were blessed to have great composers write music for us in their renowned style.”
All versions of the Yooka-Laylee Soundtrack Collection can be ordered from Laced Records’ website.
Yooka-Laylee will be available on Steam, PS4 and Xbox One from April 11th. Initial reviews from a number of outlets haven’t been glowing exactly, but our own Oliver Bottomley loved it.
