Ubisoft has revealed the release date and plot details for their upcoming open-world action title, Far Cry 5.
Far Cry 5 is set to launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on February 27, 2018 and will have players take the role of a junior deputy of fictional Hope County, Montana. However, their arrival isn’t as relaxing as the location may seem as their arrival sparks a year-long silent coup by a crazed doomsday cult.
The Project of Eden’s Gate are incredibly violent and plan to take over the county by any means necessary. Players must untangle these plans and gather together the remaining residents of Hope County to form the Resistance.
Players can expect to fly planes and take part in aerial dog fights with the cult, race muscle cars, big rigs, ATVs, and much more. And as you’d expect with a Far Cry game, the wildlife might be just as deadly as the cult themselves. Far Cry 5 will also feature a huge arsenal of weapons including ranged weapons, grenades, sledgehammers. Players can also recruit Guns for Hire or even Fangs for Hire, specialised animals which can join the player along their journey.
Finally, the game will always remain fresh as Far Cry 5 will also bring the return of the map editor which will allow players to build and share their own maps to create and infinite mount of new playgrounds.
