Following the news that Square Enix is parting ways with Hitman developer Io-Interactive, the developer has today announced that it’s had to make some difficult choices and cut staff.
The studio confirmed on Twitter today that there have been multiple layoffs within the company in order to “be better equipped for our future adventures.” This news is indeed tough and once again puts the future of the Hitman series into question.

The announcement, which you can see above, doesn’t go into too much detail as to how many people have been laid off, nor whether the rumour that the developer still has control over the Hitman series is true.
We’re hoping we have some solid information soon as many of us loved the recent Hitman reboot.
