Injustice 2 (PS4, Xbox One)

Release Date: May 16

Injustice 2

The much-anticipated sequel to NeatherRealm’s Injustice: Gods Among Us, this brawler brings even more of your favorite DC heroes and villains into the ring. From its huge roster, to the over the top, ridiculous special moves, to its pleasantly surprising story mode, Injustice 2 looks to build on everything the fans loved about the original. NeatherRealm’s press release best sums up just what players can expect from the game’s story mode…

“Injustice 2 continues the epic cinematic story introduced in Injustice: Gods Among Us as Batman and his allies work towards putting the pieces of society back together while struggling against those who want to restore Superman’s regime. In the midst of the chaos, a new threat appears that will put Earth’s existence at risk. Players can play from the biggest DC roster ever offered in a fighting game, from classic fan favorites such as Batman, Superman, Supergirl and Aquaman, to astonishing new villains like Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd. Battles will take place across arenas that have evolved in scale and span across iconic locations such as Metropolis, Gotham City and Atlantis.”

On top of this, players will also be able to customize their favorite characters by decking them out in armor through the Gear System. This RPG-like mechanic rewards players with loot drops every time you play. You earn character-specific gear to outfit and bolster your roster which changes not only the character’s cosmetics but your fighting strategy and approach to each and every match. As you customize your characters, your ever-growing roster of DC heroes and villains will reflect those choices and preferences, which can be hugely different from your opponents!
