New Far Cry 5 Key Art Reveals Interesting Game Details

Right in your back yard

With the official announcement of the next instalment in the Far Cry series, Ubisoft dropped a Key Art image that reveals more than you may think.

Instantly you can see that the new setting Ubisoft has chosen is right here in the good ol’ U.S. of A. Where exactly has yet to be determined and hopefully they chose their location carefully. Far Cry games are known for being expansive. Gliders, wing suits and other forms of transportation that carry you great distances across Ubisoft’s vast environments.

So its curious to think just where this game will take place in the U.S. The snow covered mountains in the background of the above image restrict the locations a bit. If I had to guess you’re going to be somewhere at the base of the Rockys of Appalachian mountains. Both areas would provide the seamless flow of grass and dirt to snow and ice terrains.

It may also be safe to assume that you’ll be somewhere with a “Southern” aesthetic. The white church, American flags and the way the man in the middle is dressed lead you to believe you’re probably going to be dealing with some Southern Extremists of some kind. Not to mention the tied up, bareskinned man with “Sinner” written across his back. Lets not forget the white wolf to the right with a cross painted on his head.

If you look towards the back right, just below the two fighting planes, we see a burning farm like building. Like the games before, this one will probably involve some form of drug cartels in the story. We’d only be so lucky if we got to torch some more marijuana crops while listening to Skrillex.

Lastly, the planes flying just under the title, imply that you will in fact be in an area big enough to fly something that can cover that much distance.

Theres a ton to take away from this Key Art and luckily we won’t have to wait to much longer. The official reveal of Far Cry 5 will be shown Friday, May 26!!
