Red Dead Redemption 2’s Release Window Doesn’t Matter, Take-Two Says

Though fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 have very few details about the upcoming sequel, it doesn’t seem to deter the hype surrounding the game.

Recently though, it was revealed that Rockstar has pushed Red Dead Redemption 2 from Fall 2017 to Spring 2018. While promising that more information on the game – as well as screenshots – would be released to satisfy fans and make up it, Take-Two president (Strauss Zelnick) also gave an interesting statement concerning the delay.

When asked about the rumours of a 2018 release, he stated that a release date for a game as beloved as RDR doesn’t really matter.

“Consumers are consuming entertainment year-round now; they don’t stop in the summer months. We believe that if you give people an extraordinary experience, they will show up for it.”

Read Dead Redemption wasn’t released during the Fall/Winter – like most game studios aim for – and it clearly sold well. Zelnick showed confidence that the case for RDR 2 would be the same and why wouldn’t it? Like he said – good games are absolutely worth waiting for!
