Bandai Namco have announced that as part of their VR arcades which they’re opening in Tokyo next month, they will be offering Mario Kart VR as one of the experiences. The news comes alongside a trailer giving a glimpse at what Mario Kart might look like, spoilers, it’s awesome.
Players will don a HTC Vive and climb into a drivers seat featuring a steering wheel. There’s also sensors which players will wear on their hands allowing them to throw bananas, shells and all manner of Mario Kart weaponry.
Bandai Namco will open dedicated VR arcades in Japan and London with more planned further down the line. The first, will open next month in Tokyo and will be called VR Zone Shinjuku. The arcade will cover two floors of a building and feature over 15 VR experiences as well as a food court.
