E3 2017: Ubisoft announce naval combat game Skull and Bones

Bewarrrr the Kraken.

Ubisoft surprised at their E3 conference by dropping an unexpected naval combat game inspired by the gameplay of Assassin’s Cred 4: Black Flag.

In Skull and Bones you play as a pirate, alone or with a group of friends, and patrol the trade routes of the Indian Ocean. You can play multiple different game modes but the one shown at the conference was a ‘loot hunt’. You and your team must race to collect as much loot with your ships as you can within the given time.

You compete with other players in seasons and aim to be the ultimate pirate kingpin.

The game appears to have a heavy tactical element in that different ships have different abilities. These include reinforced frigates and warships.

Oh and it appears to have sea monsters. Sold. The game will release in Autumn 2018.

This is a breaking news story and we will update it with more information when it is available.
