Ni no Kuni 2: The Revenant Kingdom will have online multiplayer and may see the return of some familiar faces, though who exactly, is being kept under wraps.
In an official interview between Bandai Namco and Akihiro Hino, Level-5 president and CEO, Hino confirmed that mutliplayer would be coming to Ni no Kuni 2. When asked whether the game would have multiplayer he replied:
“Yes, there will be multiplayer. You will be able to play online with your friends in various capacities.”
Unfortunately details are pretty slim right now, though hopefully we get some sort of co-operative or PvP mode using the game’s battle system.
Later in the interview, Hino was asked whether we’d be seeing any returning characters from Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, his response was:
“Although I can confirm that there will be all sorts of cool characters in this sequel, for now the characters that are returning will remain secret. I would love for our fans to play the game and enjoy the surprises.”
Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom is set 100 years after the events of the first game, which obviously limits the certain characters that could make a return, though given the fact that the game has humans, cats, and mice living together in harmony, I suppose anything could happen.
Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom will launch for PlayStation 4 and PC on November 10.
