Pokémon GO Event Coming to Chester

Locations all over the city of Chester in the UK will become PokéStops for the upcoming Chester Heritage Festival to be held from July 22 to 23.

Niantic, the developer of Pokémon GO, the Pokémon Company, and Big Heritage Chester have partnered to identify the historical locations across Chester that will become way points for budding Pokémon trainers. One of the historical locations chosen for the event is Chester Castle, which will be open to the public for the first time in 20 years.

Anyone visiting the city will be able to take part in the activities which include fun trails and real-world events.

Niantic CEO John Hanke said:

“I am incredibly excited about this partnership linking local history and Pokémon GO. We love the idea of using mobile games as a motivation for families to play outside together and perhaps to learn something interesting while they are at it!”
