Splatoon 2 Getting Splatfest Multiplayer Demo Next Week

Nintendo has announced that a new Splatfest multiplayer demo will be launching ahead of the launch of Splatoon 2 on July 15.

This upcoming Splatfest demo will allow players to get in early on one of the game’s first Splatfests, the game’s recurring competition that has players deciding which out of two things is best.

The demo is available to download on the Nintendo eShop right now, and will run from 3PM to 7PM PT on July 15.

This first Splatfest has a lovely sweet theme and asks players to choose which is better, Cake or Ice Cream. As always, Splatfests are hosted by two charismatic squid Idols. In Splatoon we had Callie and Marie, however they’ve split up so a new breed of hosts are coming in the form Off the Hook pop duo Pearl and Marina, and the Internet is already in love.

Pearl and Marina will be the new faces of Splatfest during this outing, but details surrounding the duo are thin right now. The good news is that we’ll be seeing plenty of them as Nintendo have two years of Splatfests planned.
