PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Getting First-Person Only Servers

Game creator Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene took to Twitter earlier to announce that his crazy-popular battle-royale shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be getting first-person only servers for those who believe the game is not hard enough already, apparently those people exist. You can view the tweet below which contains the hashtag #MakeHardcoreGreatAgain

Generally, players use a mix of both third and first person perspective when playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Third person is especially useful for traversing the environment, peering around corners and driving vehicles. First person is usually reserved for lining up a shot as it definitely gives you a boost in accuracy.

E3 was a busy time for the game as two new maps were announced along with a zombie mode, 3D replay mode and climbing/vaulting mechanics. It was also announced that the game would launch as a console exclusive on Xbox One.

Shortly after these announcements, the full release of the game was pushed back to late 2017. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds released on Steam Early Access a few months ago and has already sold millions of copies and continues to be the most viewed game on Twitch week after week.
