During this year’s D23 Expo, new details were unveiled for the upcoming fantasy title Kingdom Hearts III which included, among other things, a freaking Toy Story world.
In the trailer, which can be viewed below, Sora, Donald and Goofy find themselves dropped into the charming world of Toy Story, marking the first time the series has featured a Pixar crossover. Our heroes meet a tonne of iconic characters from the Toy Story franchise including Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Rex and proceed to travel to a toy store. Hamm is there, Sora climbs into a mech action figure and starts blowing enemies away and Rex shrieks in terror, only in Kingdom Hearts.
At the end of the presentation, Kingdom Hearts III was given a 2018 release date, which I’m sure they will stick too, for sure. Kingdom Hearts II released back in 2005 and was followed by a series of spin-offs and re-releases. Kingdom Hearts III was unveiled at E3 back in 2013 and fans have been eager for the game to finally release ever-since.
