Splash Damage Teams up with Wargaming for New Games

Wargaming has announced that they’re teaming up with Splash Damage, the developer behind Brink and the recent free-to-play shooter, Dirty Bomb, for new games within the “Wargaming universe”.

Having just acquired the rights to Dirty Bomb from Nexon, you’d think Splash Damage had their work cut out for them injecting new life into the game, but apparently not as they’ll soon be using their “vast multiplayer expertise” to create “multiple projects” under the Wargaming banner, the company said in a press release.

“As gamers, Victor [Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming] and I share the same passion for our communities,” said Splash Damage CEO Paul Wedgwood. “We actively listen to players and strive to put their needs first, whilst forging multiplayer experiences that champion cooperation and help develop new friendships.

“The Wargaming universe gives our team a great creative canvas, allowing us to develop a game experience for a massive, loyal following, and we’re extremely excited to get started.”

As it’s early days we know very little about what the future of this partnership may hold. Interestingly, Wargaming have put most of their multiplayer efforts into their “World of…” series’ which have focused on Tanks, War Planes, and War Ships. Could this new deal mean that they’re planning on releasing a first person shooter?
