PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Hits 5 Million Sales

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (AKA PUBG) hit Steam’s Early Access in March 2017 and since then the game has surpassed 5 million sales, which is incredible for an Early Access title.

Last month, PlayerUnknown announced that the game had surpassed 4 million sales in just three months, and a little over a month later the game has hit the 5 million mark, according to SteamSpy.

PUBG is an MMO battle royale game which pits 100 people against each other in a world filled with weapons just lying around. Eventually the map keeps closing in and brings surviving players to a central point on a map to fight to the death and achieve a “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner”. It’s an incredibly exciting game, but it does take some skills.

The game was originally set to launch this summer, but has since been delayed until the end of 2017.  At E3 earlier this year it was also revealed that PUBG would be a “console launch exclusive” for Xbox One, though a PS4 release hasn’t yet been ruled out.
