SEGA announced at SDCC this weekend that Sonic Mania will be getting some iconic and memorable Special Stages.
These Special Stages will be very familiar to fans of Sonic CD and those who played the game on SEGA Saturn as they’ll let players dash around 3D areas collecting rings and avoiding obstacles. In addition, these Special Stages will also receive their own sound tracks too, one of which you can see below.
Cutscenes within Sonic Mania will also take inspiration from classic Sonic titles such as Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles, with a very similar art style.
During SDCC Sonic Mania got a hell of a lot of love not only from SEGA, but from the crowd too, and we’ve really not got too long to wait until we can get our hands on the game.
Sonic Mania launches on August 15 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
