Descenders Brings Extreme Freeriding to a Digital Era

No More Robots and Rage Squid have today announced a brand new extreme downhill freeriding game, Descenders, that’ll have you holding your breath as you defy death. (Hey, poetry!)

No More Robots, the brand new publishing label from Mike Rose, came out with a bang yesterday when he announced the new label and the first game from the studio, and it looks like a corker.

Descenders is an “extreme downhill freeriding for the modern era”, and has been described as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, but on a bike. It’s been truly an age since we last had a decent extreme cycling game, so I welcome Descenders with open arms.

The game is due to launch soon on Steam and consoles, throwing players into a procedurally-generated world where every movement is counted for, and every mistake could mean certain death for your little rider. The game features a fully-fledged physics system which allows the freedom to pull of some truly insane tricks and earn players Rep points. However, it also allows for some incredibly painful looking crashes, too.

Descenders’ procedurally generated worlds also means that no two runs are the same, putting added risk on players as they attempt new routes every time.

In addition to the gameplay, the game itself will feature three teams players can be allied with, Enemy, Arboreal or Kinetic, each of which have their own team colours, and offer gear and prizes to players during their ascent to the top.

Players can sign up now for the beta by picking their team at the Descenders Discord.
