Bohemia Interactive have announced the launch of Mini DAYZ for mobile devices, allowing players to continue their zombie survival adventures on the go.
Mini DAYZ was announced back in 2014 offering a top-down pixelated DAYZ survival experience within players’ browsers. The game has since received, a crafting update, a multiplayer mode, and now a full release on mobile devices.
Mini DAYZ is available on iOS and Android completely free with zero in-app-purchases.
The mini version of the game offers a slimmed down version of the main game that keeps its core fundamentals: a hardcore, permadeath survival game. Players find themselves stranded in a post-apocalyptic world and will need to find food and weapons to survive. Within the game players will encounter signature buildings and items from the main game too, which is a nice touch.
There are also weather conditions, hostile AI, and wild animals to contend with. There’ll also be the ability for players to build their own camps with stashes to keep all of their loot. Unlike the browser version of Mini DAYZ, the mobile version is fully single player, but it’s optimised with hi-res textures and touch-screen controls.
“The feedback we’ve gathered during the soft launch in selected countries was invaluable for tweaking the touch controls, as well as for balancing the overall difficulty of the game. It is DAYZ after all, so it has to be an unforgiving experience – and that’s exactly what players like about it. I’m really happy that everyone can play the game now, we’re looking forward to what you have to say about it. There’s not many titles like Mini DAYZ on mobile platforms” added Mike Azovskikh, the original author of Mini DAYZ.
