According to SuperData, the launch of Destiny 2 is going to be massive, not only for its console launch, but for its PC launch too.
Destiny 2 is going to surprise everyone, according to SuperData, who predict that the game will sell 3 million units on PC in its first three months on sale. That’ll make the game the biggest-selling big-budget PC release since Blizzard’s Overwatch.
The game will initially launch on Xbox One and PS4 first, followed by a PC release two months later, but SuperData predicts that this PC release will actually make up a huge portion of its digital sales. The firm predicts that Destiny 2 will sell between 4 and 5 million units within the first three months.
SuperData’s predictions almost come in line with what Activision expects from the sequel, which sits at around 5 million sales, though it’s worth noting that SuperData is digital-only meaning retail sales are still to be considered. That being the case, there’s every possibility that overall Destiny 2 could far exceed any expectations.
Destiny 2 launches first on consoles in September followed by an October release on PC.
