GTA 5 data miners have been hard at work recently digging through game files to see if they can find any clues to future content, and one of the game’s biggest mysteries might have just been cracked.
Since the launch of GTA 5 back in 2013 the Chiliad Mystery has been a hot topic in among the GTA community as there were several hints to something alien related throughout parts of Los Santos and Blaine County. Up until now however, it’s all been speculation.
Now, thanks to data miners, a new seemingly ordinary supply run has revealed all about the Chiliad Mystery. Chiliad Mystery Guru, a group of fans who have been chasing down this mystery for some time found that by altering the game’s code, they could launch a supply run which sees players transport to a UFO crash site.
Apparently this took the team “two weeks of sleepless nights and years of research” to finally uncover this mystery, and could potentially hint at things to come. Though a word of warning, this supply run is only accessibly by modifying some of the game’s code.
“I will agree it could seem mod-esque. But we made no attempts to alter any other game mechanics. Just a simple value of true or false, to see if we were on the right track,” explains one of the members of Chiliad Mystery Guru in the video above.
On reddit, SSj5_Tadden questioned how players might be able to come across this supply run.
“What makes this mission spawn naturally? Is it just a very rare supply run you get by chance? Or is there some elaborate sequence of things we have to do beforehand?”
Maybe we’ll never know… I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
