Logitech has today announced that it has agreed to acquire ASTRO Gaming. This move will make Logitech one of the leading makers of headsets, mice, keyboards, and more.
ASTRO Gaming are probably well known for their high-quality and award-winning headsets for gamers across the globe. Now, it looks like Logitech will also be known for this as the company has acquired the headset maker for $85 million in cash, with the expected impact to have an effect on FY 2018.
According to the company, they expect the acquisition to add “approximately two points of growth to the top line, and to be slightly dilutive to the bottom line in the first year, as we integrate the business and invest to expand ASTRO internationally.”
“ASTRO is the leading player for premium console headsets and is the preferred headset for console esports athletes,” said Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of Logitech G. “It’s a perfect complement to Logitech G’s focus on PC gaming and we couldn’t be more excited; we love the team, the brand and the products. Together, we want to make game play even more fun for gamers everywhere.”
The deal is expected to close this August and will see Logitech and ASTRO come together to become a gaming peripheral powerhouse. This acquisition will also see Logitech invest in the console gaming market.
