The Pokémon Company and Niantic Labs have announced worldwide “Challenge Windows” that’ll take place during Pokémon Go Fest later this month.
While Pokémon Go Fest is still set to take place firmly in Chicago on July 22, for those who missed out on that short half an hour window to aquire a ticket, there might still be some Pokémon goodness for you.
Today, Niantic Labs and The Pokémon Company have announced “Challenge Windows” smaller events that’ll be held in various locations across the world that’ll net trainers some special perks and capture unique Pokémon, provided everyone can work together. These events will take place simultaneously during Pokémon Go Fest and will challenge Fest attendees to certain missions in order to unlock perks for trainers across the world.
These activities will consist of catching certain types of Pokémon to unlock a variety of perks for other Pokémon Go players, in addition, those outside of the event are challenged to catch as many Pokémon as they can to extend the duration of the bonuses unlocked by those attending Pokémon Go Fest. Basically, y’all gotta work together or nothing is going to get done.
“If Trainers around the world catch enough Pokémon, a mystery challenge will be revealed at Pokémon GO Fest Chicago for the potential to unlock an extra-special bonus across the globe,” reads the press release.
If that all sounds a little complicated, then you’ll be pleased to know that trainers across Europe can get involved in their own events titled Pokémon Go Safari Zone events. These events will be hosted at select Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers in Copenhagen and Prague on August 5, Stockholm and Amsterdam on August 12 and Oberhausen, Paris and Barcelona on September 16.
These Safari Zones will give trainers the chance to catch a variety of different Pokémon from the Kanto-region and Johto-region zones including those never encountered in Europe. In addition, there’ll be several unique Raid Bosses to take down during Raid Battles. Zones will also feature special Pokémon Go lounges where trainers can recharge their devices as well as hang out with Pokémon Go YouTube creators in attendance.
