The new trailer highlights the on-going conflict between the Kingdom of Erusea and the Ocean Federation, this time focusing on the Erusea side. Set ten years after the events of Ace Combat 5, the Osean Federation have entered Erusea’s territory with its giant space elevator construction. This is when Princess Rosa Cossette D’Elise of the Kingdom of Erusea steps in and encourages her citizens to fight the Osean Federation.

Ace Combat 7 is set to feature very similar gameplay and physics to previous titles, feeling familiar to fans of the franchise. For the first time ever, clouds will play into effect, allowing the player to use cloudcover to ambush enemies, but staying in the cloud too long can cause freezing damage to the plane.

Ace Combat 7 will support virtual reality exclusive to PlayStation VR. This is set to  consist of a package of missions separate from the campaign, which aren’t accessible without VR. In addition, the main campaign wont be playable in VR, at least not at launch.
