The release date for Divinity: Original Sin 2 is fast approaching so what better time to build some hype over its many interesting features? Hence why the latest developer diary has announced some features the upcoming game will have – including a split screen co-op mode.
The co-op split screen will allow up to four players (across two PCs) to play together. If you think that is the only new feature announced, you’d be wrong. They are also introducing Rune Crafting, Skill Crafting, death animations and a new physics engine for all those hilarious deaths you’re bound to encounter.
For example, in Skill Crafting players can create new skills by combining existing ones. You could carry out a necromany/fire combo to form Corpse Explosion. It gets incredibly deep and complicated but that’s part of the lure for Divinity players and this new layer of complexity will only give them more of what they love about the game. Similarly, a new layer of weapon and armour improvement called Runecrafting allows players to build on what they already had.
Further to Skill Crafting, the above developer diary shows off Rune Crafting—a similar discipline that allows players to improve weapons and gear.
