At Gamescom, EA Games officially announced that their EA Originals title Fe will be launching worldwide in 2018.
Previously announced a few E3’s ago, EA announced EA Originals, a new initiative that’ll have Electronic Arts supporting smaller developers. During the announcement, the company revealed Fe, however detailed remained pretty thin. E3 2017 rolled around and we heard nothing more, until now.
At Gamescom, EA revealed that Fe, currently in development at Zoink Games, will be launching in Early 2018. The game will be a “new type of wordless platformer” which seems to focus on sounds. Players will assume the role of Fe, a small cub who awakens in a forest full of things waiting to be discovered.
“We wanted to create a game that gives the feeling of exploring something special,” said Klaus Lyngeled, CEO and Creative Lead at Zoink Games. “We would spend hours in the woods as kids, and while it felt scary at first, eventually the strange sounds became familiar — you become part of nature and the forest feels like home. Players will realise similar feelings as they play through Fe. Wherever and however the game is played, we ensure it will be a unique experience of discovery, unlike anything played before.”
Players will discover secrets and uncover their own narrative as they progress and meet mystical creatures of the forest, some of whom are friendly, others… not so much.
Fe will be launching worldwide in early 2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Origin for PC and Nintendo Switch.
