The highly controversial Creation Club has been launched for Fallout 4 by Bethesda, and its already got peoples blood boiling. The Creation Club is currently in beta on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

A little over 2 months since Bethesda first announced Creation Club, the service has finally launched in beta form. Giving players 100 free credits (the currency used to purchase content through the service) to sample what’s on offer. 100 credits equates to about $1, so it’s gonna get you peanuts. The minimum purchase of credits is currently 750 credits.

The issue however, is that there are several existing mods available for content on the Creation Club, leading many to claim Bethesda are going back on their promise of the Creation Club not being a return to the paid mods content that was slammed so hard previously. most notably is the available X-03 Hellfire armour, brought over into the game from Fallout 3’s Broken Steel DLC. This suit of armour is also available as a mod on Nexus Mods, created by the Road to Liberty modding team.

The two armours are visually different but based on the same concept. Road to Liberty have made a comparison video between the two sets of armour. This has caused some anger, as many are noting that the quality of Bethesda’s Creation Club armour is, while good, sub par to that of the original free mod. It certainly could be, and has been by many, seen as Bethesda hopping onto a popular mod for the sake of a quick buck.

Creation Club for Fallout 4 is currently in beta, and available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It will be supporting Skyrim Special Edition in the very near future.
