Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy 15 will be coming to mobile with a fantastic Pocket Edition.
Yes, you read that right – just after the momentous announcement that Square Enix’s open-world RPG Final Fantasy XV will be coming to PC next year, they’ve also revealed that a mobile version of the game is in development and scheduled for release before the end of the year, titled Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition.
Pocket Edition will be a miniaturised version of the original title, retelling the story of Noctis and co. with its own unique and adorable chibi-ish art style reminiscent of the Final Fantasy Theatrhythm games. It seems as though the title will keep its open-world real-time action gameplay too, though from an isometric perspective with touch controls.
And yes, for those who were terrified that it might not be included, car journeys will still be a thing. The game will be released episodically, with all ten episodes being available at launch and the first being free to download. Let’s hope each episode is reasonably priced.
Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition will be released iOS, Android and Windows 10 devices later this year.
